Krav Maga is known for being the top choice for street fight training in South Dakota because of how practitiioners train. Most training is scenario-based. There aren't long, drawn out katas (or forms) as there are in many other traditional arts. Although great for muscle memory and general conditioning, this type of training lacks the real-world feel and application. Krav Maga fighters in South Dakota train specifically with scenario drills such as low light attacks, multiple attackers, group violence, assault prevention, 3rd party protection, real-world (not ancient) weapon attacks, ATM roberies, home invasion, car jacking and similar life threatening events.

This is the definition of Krav Maga according to Wikipedia: Krav Maga /krÃâÃÂv mÃâ¢ÃËáÃâÃÂ/ (Hebrew: çðè÷Ãâ Þ÷Ãâøüâ [ÃËkÃÂav maÃËáa], lit. "contact combat") is a self-defense system developed for the military in Israel that consists of a wide combination of techniques sourced from boxing, savate, Muay Thai, Wing Chun, Judo, Jujutsu, wrestling, and grappling, along with realistic fight training. Krav Maga is known for its focus on real-world situations and extremely efficient and brutal counter-attacks.[1] It was derived from street-fighting skills developed by Slovakian-Israeli martial artist Imi Lichtenfeld, who made use of his training as a boxer and wrestler as a means of defending the Jewish quarter against fascist groups in Bratislava in the mid-to-late 1930s. In the late 1940s, following his immigration to Israel, he began to provide lessons on combat training to what was to become the IDF, who went on to develop the system that became known as Krav Maga. It has since been refined for civilian, police and military applications.
